Polavaram dam, an ambitious multi-purpose irrigation project also declared a “National Project” by AP Reorganization Act in 2014 is finally underway in the East and West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh and Keller India is proud to be the part of this mega national project with specialized technique of Jet Grout cut off below u/s & d/s cofferdam.
A grand inauguration and an elite audience:
The Jet Grouting work was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu which was graced by other state dignitaries and Keller India operations team. The Hon. CM is eager to get all the information about this project since inception and would be timely visiting the site to be abreast of the real-time progress of the project.
Keller India - the confidence to lead the way
Given the magnitude and the geo-technical complexities of a project of such massive proportions, Keller prides in providing innovative solutions to successfully overcome operational challenges without compromising on either quality or safety. We have been instrumental in introducing Jet Grouting, a relatively new and superior technology at this most prominent of projects in India. We pride in our expertise at the Jet Grouting, Vibro-compaction and Ground Improvement techniques especially for seepage control and densification of loose sandy deposits respectively. We are instrumental when it comes to innovation, which can be seen through our solutions. In this project, large diameter jet grout columns were executed below proposed cofferdam sections to arrest seepage below. This technique is one of its kind in India.
There are several dynamics for the accomplishment of certain geo-technical tasks. That’s when Keller India leverages its “Global Strength Local Focus” advantage over its competitors. Transfer of technology entails the deployment of the best men and machines from across the globe. The specialty pumps from US, the specialized drill rigs from Germany and technical expertise from across globe exemplify the sheer strength of our resources in executing such a project. The project necessitates working on a perennial river having a 2 km wide bank. Moreover, we are required to work on stringent deadlines because the onset of monsoon poses added operational challenges, or worse, even nullify all previous efforts.
Keller India is committed to execute this project to the best of our capacity and technology. We have allocated the best resources to match every expectation - down to the minutest details. We have every reason to be proud of our achievements. The Polavaram Project is yet another springboard to propel ourselves to greater heights.
Recently Polavaram Project has bagged Vishwakarma award by Construction Industry Development Council for Safety Excellence.
